Expected rain in NWS forecast intervals

Full-interval amounts, not hourly totals or the amount remaining.

Forecast for the ZIP’s representative location, not a reading at your gauge. View the NWS forecast. Saved versions begin when this site started recording them.

Daily rainfall comparison

Rain amounts in the same units. Hollow chart points mark partial records; gaps stay unknown.

North Perry is about 6.3 miles west of the ZIP center; FLL is about 6.6 miles north. Local showers can differ between stations. Partial-day totals may cover different hours and are not directly equivalent. “Trace” means rain below the reporting threshold; a dash is unknown.

Compare the last 48 completed hours

Gauge values use the rolling-hour reading nearest the hour end, within three minutes. A missing reading or an hour spanning the clean reset stays unknown. Saved forecast chances were captured before the hour began.

Historical airport rainfall: Iowa Environmental Mesonet processed METAR archive. These are nearby observations, not ZIP-wide measurements or reconstructed old forecasts. Reference data may be delayed or revised.

A heads-up when the rain adds up.

Choose an amount and time window. We’ll notify this device when fresh station readings cross your threshold.

Notifications are optional. No account needed.

One alert per threshold crossing, with a one-hour cooldown. Delivery depends on your browser, connection and phone settings. These are measured rainfall alerts, not forecast probabilities or emergency warnings.

Keep Rain on your home screen.

Open it like an app. The latest readings and your notification settings stay one tap away.

About this record

Rain is a free project from MrSalesforce, powered by an Ecowitt rain gauge. It measures rain at one location; nearby streets can see different conditions. Gauge placement, calibration and resolution affect the readings. Use official weather and emergency services for safety decisions.

The archive keeps observation times and units. Missing or old data stays labelled. Notification subscriptions are stored privately to deliver the alerts you request; you can turn them off on this device.
